Guess its the time of the year where we all do our resolutions, and then few weeks down the road we all forget about it. Happens to everyone, especially me. Hell, most of the time I can't even remember my resolutions at the end of the very year I made them, let alone fulfill them.
Was speaking to a client of mine before New Year's and he actually gave me a tip:- make less resolutions, and keep them within reach.
So I got to thinking during my drive home, discussed it further with Alle later and I started coming up with more and more resolutions. Definitely not keeping it simple and within reach.
Anyway, to counter the reasonably long list of resolutions for 2009, I implemented a "ranking" system for my resolutions, so I can start at the top and work my way down. Meeting the important ones in December 2009 would be ideal, and anything more would be a bonus.
Before I forget though, let me list them down. That way 2 weeks from now when I'm on my way to forgetting my resolutions I can come back and catch a refresher.
In order:-
1) Stop spending money on "large" purchases (i.e. gadget-y stuff that aren't cheap - got me a MacBook and PDA in 2008 only to sell them off at a reasonable loss after barely using them)
2) Maintain a more healthy lifestyle (sleeping habits, diet and staying fit the key)
3) Be more positive about work (which will keep the stress and blood pressure levels low)
4) Spend more time with family (got 2 little additions to the family, so I have to start gearing myself to be their favourite uncle!)
5) Start a blog (Wahey!)
6) Maintain the blog that I've started (Been occasions in the past 2 years where I actually started a simple blog but never did had the discipline to maintain a healthy flow of entries)
7) Take better care of my car (Veronica's getting older now, just recently went through a make over and I need to keep her nice and hot. Probably not the best idea to get a new car under the current economic climate anyway)
Guess 7 should do for now.
p/s: Funny how I talk about maintaining a healthy sleeping habit, but yet I'm posting this entry at 3:46AM. Not a good start, that's for sure.
